Hossam Shabat - Hoodie

Hossam Shabat was a young Palestinian journalist and correspondent for Al Jazeera Mubasher, based in northern Gaza. He carried on reporting under siege, determined to let the world see what many tried to hide.

Born in Beit Hanoun, Hossam faced the devastation of war early in life. His home and his family’s restaurant were destroyed, and dozens of his relatives were killed in airstrikes. Through it all, he stayed in Gaza’s north, broadcasting stories of loss, survival, and resilience.

On March 24, 2025, while heading toward the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia for a live assignment, Hossam was targeted. His car was struck by a missile, killing him instantly. He was only 23 years old. He had previously said that journalism in Gaza was a death sentence, yet he refused to stop.

This hoodie is made in tribute to Hossam Shabat as a martyr of truth. He risked everything, his youth, his safety, and his life to bear witness. May his memory endure, and may his voice forever echo in every story told, every image shared, and every soul that seeks justice.
